A 12-year program to lead children in finding their way through the Bible.

Finding the Way is a course for teaching children over a 12 year period. It has been designed  for use in a sunday school but can easily be used in a school or home setting. The course is contructed as follows but this can be ignored if preferred:

  • The 12 years are divided into 4 groups of 3 years each. In most settings children are taught in groups and these divisions try to reflect this.
  • Each 3 year set of lessons covers the entire Bible once. Thus, a child moving through the entire program will repeat the Bible four times at different levels of detail and information that are age appropriate.
  • Each year has 25 lessons. This is approximately the number of weekly classes that are needed once school holidays are removed. These are divided into 11 Old Testament lessons, 11 New Testament lessons and 3 lessons of Christian Interest.

Exploring the People of the Bible
This age group is from toddler to  Grade 1. The division is made at  this point because most children  can only read and write effectively from Grade 2. If your sunday school starts very young then children may spend more than 3 years in this group but repitition is never a problem! The Christian Interest lessons look at Heroes of the Faith.
